The Government today presented 19 strategic investment projects to be implemented over the coming years with European Union support through the Growth Plan for the Republic of Moldova. The projects cover five priority areas — energy, infrastructure, agriculture, education and healthcare — and aim to modernise the country and improve citizens’ living conditions. The investments will be financed through the Growth Plan for the Republic of Moldova, with additional funding mobilised, including from international development partners, TRIBUNA reports.
During the “Building Moldova” event, Prime Minister Vasile Tofan and members of the Cabinet outlined the main planned investments, their intended outcomes and the stages of project implementation.
“We have a historic opportunity to invest the resources provided through the Growth Plan in ways that improve Moldovans’ lives. A European country is not proclaimed; it is built,” Prime Minister Vasile Tofan said.
The Prime Minister stressed that joining the European Union means not only reforms and negotiations, but also tangible investments that people can see in communities across the Republic of Moldova. The Government aims to accelerate strategic projects to close the development gap with European countries as quickly as possible.
The 19 projects are at different stages of preparation and implementation. Some are already well advanced, while others are undergoing technical feasibility studies. The Prime Minister emphasised that the Government’s priority is to accelerate work and complete the investments within the established deadlines: “We want to deliver in just a few years projects that took decades in other countries.”
