President Maia Sandu stated that “the Republic of Moldova is the home of all its citizens, regardless of the language we speak or the community we belong to,” TRIBUNA reports.
Sandu noted that, during the National Forum of Ethnic Minorities, discussions focused on strengthening trust among people and building a country where everyone feels respected and valued.
She referred to recent incidents involving drones falling or exploding in southern localities: “When a drone fell in Etulia, a predominantly Gagauz community, danger did not ask what language people speak. Nor did it when another exploded between Ceadîr‑Lunga and Valea Perjei, or in Crocmaz. We all share the same concerns and want the same thing: to know our children are safe and to live in peace.”
The President emphasized that accession to the European Union means greater security, more development opportunities, and guarantees that every community can preserve and promote its culture.
“We can be proud of our identity and traditions, and at the same time love the Republic of Moldova. And when someone tries to divide us, to turn us against each other, we must remember that there are more things that unite us than separate us,” Sandu concluded.
