Moldovan Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu will participate in the European Conference of Speakers of Parliament of the member states of the Council of Europe, which will take place in Rome on October 15–16, 2026, TRIBUNA reports.
The event will bring together more than 70 speakers and deputy speakers of parliament from the 46 member states of the Council of Europe, as well as over 500 delegates. Representatives of parliaments from partner countries, observer states, and neighbouring countries of the Council of Europe will also attend, alongside the presidents of several interparliamentary assemblies.
This year’s discussions will focus on three main topics: hybrid threats to resilient democracies, artificial intelligence and the labour market, and the role of parliaments in managing contemporary crises. Igor Grosu will deliver an address during the panel dedicated to hybrid threats to resilient democracies.
On the sidelines of the conference, the Moldovan Parliament Speaker is scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with counterparts from several countries, as well as meet with Moldovan entrepreneurs based in Italy.
The conference is held every two years under the auspices of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE). This year’s edition is hosted by the Italian Parliament, which first organised the event in Rome in 1975.
