Warnings to Citizens
The National Commission for Financial Markets (NCFM) of the Republic of Moldova warned the public about numerous fraudulent “investment” schemes that were spreading rapidly, particularly amid media reports about the TUX platform and the aggressive promotion of other similar platforms. The Government also issued a warning on the same subject.
Reactions to the Communists’ Announcement
After Vladimir Voronin, leader of the Party of Communists of the Republic of Moldova, announced that the Communists might form a parliamentary faction separate from that of the Patriotic Bloc, with which they had contested the elections, the Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova issued a response, stating that decisions on the matter would be announced at the first sitting of Parliament.
The Party “Future of Moldova” also reacted, firmly advocating for the preservation of the Patriotic Bloc’s unity and a joint parliamentary faction.
Presidential Decree
President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu signed a decree awarding state distinctions to citizens who had distinguished themselves through exceptional work in various fields, including culture, sports, education, public administration, medicine, economics, and science.
The Order of the Republic was awarded to former President Nicolae Timofti, incumbent Health Minister Ala Nemerenco, and Oazu Nantoi, a member of parliament from the Party of Action and Solidarity (whose term was nearing its end at the time).
National Award Presented
President Maia Sandu, together with Minister of Culture Sergiu Prodan, presented the National Award at a formal ceremony.
The head of state congratulated the 11 laureates, emphasizing that the Republic of Moldova needs dedicated people whose wisdom, creativity, and perseverance inspire society as a whole.
CEC Meeting
During its meeting, the Central Electoral Commission accredited 14 national observers from the Promo-LEX Public Association to monitor the new local elections scheduled for 16 November 2025.
In the same context, the Commission confirmed the appointment of the person responsible for finances (treasurer) on behalf of the Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova for the election campaign.
The CEC also extended until 15 October 2025 the period during which the chairperson and chief accountant of Electoral District Council No. 38, responsible for polling stations established abroad, were relieved of their regular duties.
New Report by the IACCC
The Independent Anti-Corruption Advisory Committee (IACCC) published its fifth report on corruption in the media sector, entitled “Mass Media and Corruption in Moldova: Friend or Foe?”
One of the major issues highlighted in the report was the lack of adequate transparency regarding media ownership.
Vladimir Bolea in Brussels
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Vladimir Bolea attended the Global Gateway Forum 2025 in Brussels.
The high-level international event, organized by the European Commission, brought together government leaders, representatives of international financial institutions, and business representatives.
Petr Vlah’s Statements
Petr Vlah, a former parliamentary candidate, noted that elections to the People’s Assembly of Gagauzia were expected to take place soon and that the elections would have “particular significance.”
“In addition to addressing the problems faced by residents of the autonomy and finding solutions to them, this time the return to normality will also be at stake,” he said.
Thomas Lenk’s Visit
Ambassador Thomas Lenk, the Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office for the Transdniestrian Settlement Process, visited the Republic of Moldova from 7 to 10 October.
During several official meetings, he discussed the current state of the negotiation process and the possibilities for identifying ways to relaunch dialogue and strengthen confidence between Chișinău and Tiraspol.
Conclusions by the Leader of NOI
Dmitri Torner, leader of the Party “NOI – New Historical Option” and a former parliamentary candidate, shared several conclusions regarding the parliamentary elections held on 28 September 2025.
One of his conclusions was:
“Unfortunately, these elections were not a competition of programmes, ideas, and solutions to the serious problems facing the Republic of Moldova. The elections were entirely dominated by geopolitics, while the hysteria generated by many of the participants in the electoral race disoriented voters.”
