Between 3 and 9 October 2026, amid attacks by the Russian Federation against Ukraine, the National Army’s Air Operations Service recorded eight incidents involving violations of the Republic of Moldova’s airspace, TRIBUNA reports.
Five of these incidents involved aerial objects flying over Moldovan territory and subsequently exploding upon impact with the ground. The incidents were reported in the following localities: the city of Căușeni, Constantinovca village (Căușeni district), Crocmaz village (Ștefan Vodă district), Puhăceni village (Anenii Noi district), and Dubovca village (Hîncești district). All incidents resulting in explosions and fires occurred on 3 October.
Three other unauthorized overflights were recorded on 3 and 7 October in the Palanca area (Ștefan Vodă district) and in Pervomaisc village, along the Transnistrian segment.
Such incidents can endanger human lives and have unpredictable consequences for the country.
Since the beginning of 2026, a total of 56 incidents involving violations of the Republic of Moldova’s airspace have been recorded. Since 2022, the number has reached 93.
The Ministry of Defence reiterates its appeal to the public: if you discover drones, missiles, or their fragments, do not approach or touch them. Any such discovery must be reported immediately to the competent authorities by calling 112.
