The President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, conveyed a congratulatory message to teachers on the occasion of their professional day, TRIBUNA reports.
“Dear teachers,
Thank you for the work you do every day for every child. I know from my own experience how much of the work done in the classroom comes home with you and how much patience, energy, and dedication the teaching profession requires.
Today’s children will live in a world very different from the one in which we grew up — with artificial intelligence, disinformation, and changes that are difficult to anticipate. They will enter a labor market where artificial intelligence will be able to take over more and more of the tasks that people perform today. That is why schools must provide them not only with solid knowledge, but also with the ability to think critically, ask questions, find solutions, and adapt. They must teach them to distinguish truth from manipulation and to use artificial intelligence as a tool, rather than as a substitute for their own intellectual effort.
Teachers cannot do all of this alone. The state must create better conditions in schools, further reduce bureaucracy, provide opportunities for professional development, and offer salaries that reflect the importance of this profession. Teachers also need the respect and support of society. Schools and families must be partners. Only together can we prepare our children for the world of tomorrow.
Happy Teachers’ Day, dear teachers!”, the message reads.
