Moldova Security Forum 2026 has reached a record number of more than 700 registered participants, up from 500 participants last year, according to the Organizing Committee. The forum will bring together officials, diplomats, experts, representatives of civil society, academia, companies, and the media. More than 90 experts from 20 countries will contribute to discussions on the security of the Republic of Moldova, Europe, and the Black Sea region.
The theme of this year’s edition is “Strengthening Democratic Resilience and Security through Strategic Vision and Multilateral Cooperation.” In simple terms, the discussions will focus on how to maintain functioning institutions, secure public services, and public trust when society is facing a war in the neighborhood, disinformation, cyberattacks, energy pressures, and other crises.
The program takes place against the backdrop of Russia’s war against Ukraine and threats affecting the entire region. The Republic of Moldova’s experience in protecting democratic processes and cooperating with European and transatlantic partners will be a central focus of the discussions.
The first day will begin with an address by President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu, followed by a discussion moderated by Alec Russell of the Financial Times. The agenda includes contributions from Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popșoi, Defense Minister Anatolie Nosatîi, and Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu, alongside representatives of European institutions, NATO, and the international expert community.
On October 8, discussions will focus on Moldova’s partnerships, defense cooperation, the future of European security, and investment in defense. On October 9, the agenda will continue with discussions on crisis preparedness, protecting institutions against threats, new technologies, the reconstruction of Ukraine, and strengthening public trust. The program includes public sessions as well as closed-door sessions for the expert community.
