The Central Electoral Council of Gagauzia (CECG), during its meeting yesterday, examined applications submitted by Ivanna Koksal and Serghei Anastasov for the registration of initiative groups to collect signatures in support of their candidacies for the position of Governor (Bashkan) of Gagauzia in the elections scheduled for November 15, 2026, TRIBUNA reports.

Also yesterday, the Political Party “Gagauz People’s Party” submitted documents to the CECG for the registration of Ivan Cîlcic, who was nominated as a candidate for the position of Governor (Bashkan) of Gagauzia.

Between September 22 and 30, 2026, documents for registration as candidates for Governor (Bashkan) of Gagauzia were submitted by Cornel Dudnic, Alexandr Stoianoglo, Fiodor Gagauz, a candidate nominated by the Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova, Petru Vlah, and Oleg Garizan.

The submitted documents are subject to verification in accordance with the electoral legal framework. The decision on registration or, where applicable, refusal of registration must be adopted within the period provided by electoral legislation, no later than seven days from the date the documents are received.

The submission of documents for the registration of candidates for the position of Governor (Bashkan) of Gagauzia will continue until October 6, 2026, inclusive, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
