The head of state emphasized that the European Union is Moldova’s main trading partner and the primary destination for Moldovan exports. The gradual integration of the economy into the European market is opening new opportunities for companies and attracting investment.
The officials discussed the reforms being implemented by Moldova on its path toward EU accession and the progress achieved, including fulfilling commitments under the Moldova Growth Plan, simplifying and digitalizing procedures for businesses, combating undeclared work, and strengthening the management of public investments and budget expenditures.
These reforms, together with the reform of local public administration, are making institutions more efficient, ensuring better use of public funds and bringing quality services closer to citizens.
In the energy sector, President Sandu highlighted the diversification of natural gas supply sources, investments in electricity interconnections with the European Union and the growth of renewable energy production. The next stage, which is already underway, focuses on additional investments in electricity grids, energy storage capacity and energy efficiency.
