Ion Ceban, Mayor of Chișinău and leader of the National Alternative Movement (MAN), summed up the year that has passed since the parliamentary elections of September 28, 2025. According to him, this period has been marked by rising prices, corruption and nepotism, TRIBUNA reports.

“Today marks exactly one year since the parliamentary elections, when citizens once again voted for PAS and gave them a majority. Some were frightened, some were full of hope, some were attracted by their promises and deceived into believing there was no alternative.

Today is indeed a significant day. On the very same day that people went to the polls and voted for them last year, exactly one year later, PAS raised prices on everything. This is a kind of PAS-style ‘thank you’ to the citizens who voted for them. In my view, this is a slap in the face to citizens and a complete disregard for people’s needs,” the politician stated.

Ion Ceban claims that the authorities “came to power through lies and manipulation and continue to deceive people.”

“They do not care that some people earn salaries of 6,000–7,000 or 10,000 lei. They do not care that people do not have enough money to pay their bills. As if mocking them, they raised prices even during the protests. Activists, representatives of all parties, citizens from all walks of life and of all ages, from across the country, were there. And the meeting was held via Zoom so that they would not have to come to the building and make their way through the crowd.

People are running out of patience, while they continue their experiments,” the MAN leader said.

According to him, more than 300,000 citizens have left the country in recent years, while public debt has increased from 67 billion to 163 billion lei.

“Every child born in the Republic of Moldova already owes more than 60,000 lei. Today we have shameless authorities, while the main figure is hiding from the people who, only yesterday, felt sorry for her and practically worshipped her. She would come out and ask citizens to save money and understand the situation — for six years in a row,” Ceban stated.

The politician also listed several prices and tariffs which, according to him, are the result of the current government’s policies:

“Now we are paying for the results of the September 28, 2025 vote:

Gas — more than 26 lei.

The price of heating increased by more than 60% today.

Electricity — 4 lei (minus 4 bani).

Petrol — more than 34 lei.

Diesel fuel — almost 37 lei.

And everything will continue to become more expensive.

People, businesses and municipalities across the country are being forced to pay for their stupidity and theft. This country has never had a government that not only failed to fulfil its promises but also made people’s lives worse year after year.

As Maia Sandu used to say: ‘The way you vote is the way you will live!’” Ion Ceban concluded.
