Prime Minister Vasile Tofan held talks in New York with Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten. The two officials discussed support for the Republic of Moldova’s European path and the development of economic cooperation between the two countries, TRIBUNA reports.

Prime Minister Vasile Tofan welcomed the Netherlands’ support for the Republic of Moldova’s integration into the European Union, reviewing developments related to the accession negotiations.

Another topic of the meeting was the development of economic cooperation between the two countries. The prime ministers discussed investment opportunities in the Republic of Moldova and ways to attract more Dutch companies to the Moldovan market.

“The Netherlands is an example of how a relatively small country can have a strong economy, solid institutions, and an important voice in Europe. There are many aspects of this experience that can also be useful to us,” Prime Minister Vasile Tofan said.

The head of government stressed that the Netherlands is an important partner in the modernization of the Republic of Moldova. Dutch support for Moldova focuses on strengthening democratic institutions and resilience, combating disinformation and corruption, cybersecurity, justice reform, and advancing the European agenda.
