The Government today approved a decision creating the necessary legal conditions for preparing and launching the restoration process for the monument, TRIBUNA reports.

Under the approved decision, the Triumphal Arch and the adjacent land will be included in the list of state-owned public real estate. The monument will be administered by the Ministry of Culture, while the adjacent land will be managed by the Public Property Agency.

Clarifying the monument’s legal status and registering it in the Real Estate Register are necessary steps for launching the restoration works.

“We have set the goal of completing the administrative and technical processes by the end of this year, so that in 2027 we can organize the procurement process, select the contractors, and begin the works in March–April,” said Minister of Culture Dan Suruceanu.

For 2026, the Ministry of Culture’s budget includes 5 million lei for preparing the technical documentation and developing the feasibility study for the project “Restoration of the Triumphal Arch in Chișinău.”

The Triumphal Arch has an area of 131.2 square meters, while the adjacent land covers 0.0151 hectares. The monument is part of the “Holy Gates and Square” architectural ensemble, which is included in the Register of Monuments of the Republic of Moldova Protected by the State.
