Igor Grosu, President of the Parliament, continued discussions on the elections in Gagauzia during his brief stopover in Istanbul with Kürşad Zorlu, a member of the Turkish Parliament responsible for relations with Turkic states, just a few weeks after Zorlu’s visit to the Republic of Moldova, TRIBUNA reports.
“We also discussed the situation in Gagauzia, including the upcoming elections in the autonomous region.
For us, it is important that Gagauzia develops in peace and stability as an integral part of the Republic of Moldova, while preserving and promoting its identity, language, and culture,” the Speaker of Parliament said.
The official noted that the special ties between the Gagauz people and Türkiye should serve as a bridge that brings people together and contributes to the development of the autonomous region.
