Prime Minister Vasile Tofan had a telephone conversation with the Prime Minister of Hungary, Péter Magyar. The advancement of the Republic of Moldova in the process of accession to the European Union, the development of bilateral relations, and the strengthening of the political dialogue between the two countries were the main topics of discussion, TRIBUNA reports.

A central topic concerned the European path of the Republic of Moldova. Prime Minister Vasile Tofan emphasized the Government’s determination to continue reforms and to advance at a sustained pace in the accession negotiations, based on the progress and results achieved by our country. In this context, the head of the Executive highlighted the importance of Hungary’s support for continuing the EU enlargement process and for advancing the Republic of Moldova towards the next stages of the accession negotiations, including the opening of new clusters in the upcoming period.

The two prime ministers also discussed strengthening the Moldovan-Hungarian partnership, with a focus on developing economic relations. Both sides expressed interest in expanding trade exchanges, attracting investments, and capitalizing on new cooperation opportunities between companies from the two countries.

Prime Ministers Vasile Tofan and Péter Magyar agreed to maintain a close dialogue and to continue developing cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and Hungary, including in supporting our country’s strategic objective of accession to the European Union.
