MP Roșca — Message to State Institutions on the Inadmissibility of Improper Influence on the SIS

In the context of efforts by national authorities to ensure the effective implementation of judgments of the European Court of Human Rights, particularly those issued in cases against the Republic of Moldova under the enhanced supervision of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe and concerning the unlawful transfer of foreign nationals, Veronica Roșca, Chair of the Legal Affairs, Appointments and Immunities Committee, addressed all state institutions, particularly the Intelligence and Security Service (SIS), urging them to prevent such situations from recurring, TRIBUNA reports.

She stated that arbitrary detentions and extrajudicial transfers are absolutely unacceptable and that such practices must be met with a policy of zero tolerance. Veronica Roșca also sent a clear message regarding the inadmissibility of any form of improper influence being exerted on the Intelligence and Security Service of the Republic of Moldova.

“Any form of future international cooperation, including cooperation with the intelligence services of other states, must be carried out in strict compliance with national legislation and the state’s human rights obligations enshrined in the European Convention on Human Rights,” she said.
