Promo-LEX Appeal

The Promo-LEX Association submitted an appeal to the United Nations, stating that more than 80,000 children in the Transnistrian region, from kindergarten through high school, were allegedly subjected to a systematic process of military training and war propaganda. The organization called on the UN to officially recognize these activities as “a grave violation of children’s rights,” request the creation of a special monitoring mechanism for territories occupied by the Russian Federation, and urge the Government of the Republic of Moldova to urgently develop action plans for the demilitarization of education in the context of the country’s reintegration process.

Igor Grosu’s Address

Igor Grosu, leader of the Party of Action and Solidarity, said in an address to citizens amid the parliamentary election campaign that gas in Moldova would no longer be available at a tariff of 10 lei, referring to previous promises made by some political opponents. According to him, the solution was to purchase gas at a reasonable market price and increase people’s incomes so they could cope with rising prices.

Irina Vlah’s Briefing

Irina Vlah, leader of the Republican Party “Heart of Moldova,” said at a press briefing that, realizing it was losing power, PAS had unleashed terror against citizens with different views and against the Republican Party “Heart of Moldova,” which, she claimed, had become PAS’s main target.

“Alternativa” Bloc Conference

The “Alternativa” Electoral Bloc presented its healthcare programme at a press conference. Ala Reajeva, a candidate representing the bloc, drew attention to the crisis in the healthcare system and stressed the need for profound change.

Maia Sandu Granted an Audience with Pope Leo XIV

President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu was received in audience by His Holiness Pope Leo XIV. During the meeting, the head of state spoke about the importance of restoring peace on the European continent, as well as about the Christian values that have preserved the unity and dignity of our people in the face of historical challenges. During her visit to the Holy See, the President also met with Cardinal Secretary of State Pietro Parolin, with whom she discussed the country’s efforts to promote peace, stability, and regional security.

Energy Strategy Presented

The Ministry of Energy presented the draft Energy Strategy until 2050 at a public event attended by key representatives of the public and private sectors, civil society, and development partners.

BEP Briefing

Candidates for Parliament from the Patriotic Electoral Bloc of Socialists, Communists, Heart of Moldova and Future of Moldova (BEP) presented their electoral programme on protecting the statehood of the Republic of Moldova at a briefing.

Messages of Condolence

Several Moldovan politicians — Igor Dodon, Vladimir Filat and Vasile Tarlev — expressed condolences to the American people over the death of Charlie Kirk, describing him as “a man of great courage and political determination, a man of genuine values who was brutally killed in front of the whole world.”

“Moldovans” Alliance Project

The “Moldovans” Alliance presented a draft law developed by the party on the regulation of the country’s strategic infrastructure. According to the party, the country’s strategic assets should remain state-owned.

Printing of Ballots for Polling Stations Abroad

The Central Electoral Commission began printing ballots for the parliamentary elections for polling stations established abroad. A total of 864,300 ballots were to be printed, including 756,800 in Romanian, 105,500 in Russian, 500 in Gagauz, and 1,500 in Ukrainian.

Seminar on Election Risks

Members and officials of the Central Electoral Commission’s staff, together with the chairpersons of district electoral councils, took part in another seminar focused on identifying and effectively managing risks associated with the parliamentary elections scheduled for September 28, 2025.

CEC Meeting

The Central Electoral Commission examined and rejected a complaint filed by the Patriotic Electoral Bloc of Socialists, Communists, Heart of Moldova and Future of Moldova concerning an electoral poster displayed on the premises of a local mayor’s office that expressed support for the Party of Action and Solidarity during the parliamentary election campaign. The Commission also took note of information contained in reports on the financing of electoral campaigns by electoral contestants in the parliamentary elections, as of September 1, 2025.

CUB Launches Campaign

The Coalition for Unity and Welfare (CUB) launched its electoral campaign in Independence Square, near the “B. P. Hasdeu” University in Cahul. The event marked the beginning of the party’s electoral activities in the region. CUB leader Igor Munteanu attended the official launch and presented the local team.

Electoral Meetings

Vasile Tarlev, a parliamentary candidate from the Patriotic Electoral Bloc of Socialists, Communists, Heart of Moldova and Future of Moldova and chairman of the “Future of Moldova” Party, met with residents of Glodeni. BEP leaders Igor Dodon and Bogdan Țîrdea held electoral meetings in the Cimișlia and Basarabeasca districts.

BEP Leaders at Round Tables

Igor Dodon, leader of the Socialists and a senior figure in the Patriotic Electoral Bloc of Socialists, Communists, Heart of Moldova and Future of Moldova, participated in the round table “Moldova–Georgia: The Path to Independence, Development and Economic Prosperity.” Vasile Tarlev, chairman of the “Future of Moldova” Party and co-chairman of the Patriotic Electoral Bloc, participated in the round table “Interethnic Peace in the Republic of Moldova: Challenges and Prospects.”

NOI Conference

The Political Party “New Historical Choice” (NOI) presented its vision for the foreign policy of the Republic of Moldova at a press conference, stating that “the Republic of Moldova should follow Austria’s example, a country that has built its foreign policy on the basis of neutrality.”

“Alternativa” Bloc Statement

The “Alternativa” Electoral Bloc strongly condemned the actions of the PAS government, which, according to the bloc, had gone as far as organizing protests against an opposition electoral contestant during the campaign, after PAS supporters protested outside the bloc’s campaign headquarters.

Irina Vlah’s Announcement

The Cahul Court of Appeal rejected prosecutors’ request to arrest members of the Republican Party “Heart of Moldova.” The announcement was made by party leader Irina Vlah, who said that criminal cases allegedly fabricated at PAS’s direction were collapsing one after another.

Andrei Năstase’s Appeal

Andrei Năstase, an independent candidate for Parliament, submitted a request to the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Moldova calling for an investigation into “information concerning a possible political deal between the Party of Action and Solidarity and Vladimir Plahotniuc.”

Searches in Călărași District

Prosecutors from the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office and officers of the National Anticorruption Center carried out procedural actions in Călărași District as part of a criminal case concerning alleged voter bribery.

Promo-LEX Report

The Promo-LEX Association presented Report No. 3 of its Election Observation Mission for the September 28 parliamentary elections, covering the period from August 29 to September 10, 2025. The report contained observations and findings concerning the beginning of the electoral campaign, the conduct of electoral contestants, and the transparency of campaign financing.
