Prime Minister Vasile Tofan held a phone conversation with Marta Kos, European Commissioner for Enlargement. The discussion focused on advancing the Republic of Moldova’s European integration process and preparations for the Moldova–European Union Association Council meeting, scheduled for October 5, TRIBUNA reports.

The officials discussed the next steps on Moldova’s path toward EU accession, as well as the continuation of the reforms needed to bring the Republic of Moldova closer to European standards.

Prime Minister Vasile Tofan thanked the European Union for its continued support for Moldova and emphasized that the government’s goal is to turn the European integration process into tangible results for citizens: a stronger economy, investment, and more development opportunities.

Commissioner Marta Kos welcomed the impressive progress made by the Republic of Moldova in implementing European reforms. She also informed the prime minister that the process of unlocking the next payment under the Growth Plan for the Republic of Moldova, aimed at supporting the country’s investment agenda, is in its final stage.
