Prime Minister visits the Superior Council of Magistracy

Prime Minister Vasile Tofan visited the Superior Council of Magistracy (SCM) today to discuss ways to improve judicial processes, TRIBUNA reports.

The Government has transferred two buildings on Vlaicu Pârcălab Street to the SCM free of charge for use as its new headquarters. The premises are intended to meet the institution’s operational requirements, ensure the proper organization of workflows, and provide the necessary security measures.

The discussions also covered issues such as the salary law, the importance and results of the vetting process, the optimization of administrative procedures to reduce the workload of courts, particularly Courts of Appeal, and increasing the number of judicial assistants to improve efficiency.

It should be noted that the salary law provides for increases of between 9% and approximately 12% across the judicial system, while salary increases for judges will be granted exclusively to those who have passed the external evaluation.
