Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu condemned the attacks by the Russian Federation against Ukraine, which are also having consequences for the Republic of Moldova, TRIBUNA reports.

“Yesterday, a drone crossed the territory of the Republic of Moldova, entered Romanian airspace, then returned to our country and crashed near the village of Mihăileni Vechi, Rîșcani district. During its flight, the use of Moldovan airspace was restricted, and aircraft in the sky had to wait until it was reopened.

Last night, another drone attack took place. This time, at the border crossing point on the border with Ukraine, ‘Tudora–Starokazachye.’ For many Moldovan citizens, this is a well-known and frequently used border crossing. One of the drones exploded, killing two civilians and injuring two others.

These are no longer incidents that can be viewed as something distant. Russian drones are violating our airspace, crashing on our territory, and killing people just a few hundred meters from the border of the Republic of Moldova,” the politician said.

Igor Grosu stressed that the threat posed by Russia is not a “scare tactic” or propaganda.

“This is a daily reality. Russia is present through drones flying over our country, through disinformation and propaganda, which it uses in an attempt to divide our society, as well as through armed troops illegally stationed in the Transnistrian region.

In Ukraine, Russia has been killing people every day for more than four years. We condemn these horrific attacks. I extend my sincere condolences to the families of those who were killed. Moldova has stood and continues to stand alongside Ukraine,” the Parliament Speaker emphasized.
