Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu met with Christopher Smith, the new Head of the OSCE Mission to the Republic of Moldova and OSCE mediator in the Transnistrian settlement process, reports TRIBUNA.
Igor Grosu congratulated Christopher Smith on taking up his new position and wished him success in his work, expressing his readiness for close cooperation with the OSCE Mission. The meeting focused on developments in the Transnistrian region, prospects for the country’s reintegration process, and the security situation in the region.
The Speaker of Parliament reaffirmed that the Republic of Moldova will continue to advocate for a peaceful and sustainable settlement of the Transnistrian conflict, with full respect for the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. At the same time, the authorities will continue bringing the two banks of the Dniester closer together through concrete measures aimed at economic, social, and sectoral reintegration for the benefit of citizens.
