The new provisions of the budgetary and tax policy approved by the Government today will increase the tax burden on citizens and lead to losses for local budgets. This opinion was expressed by Alexandr Berlinschii, a member of the Our Party parliamentary faction, reports TRIBUNA.

“The Government has approved the tax policy. I will leave it to economists to weigh in and provide figures on where we will be taxed more. However, one thing is certain. The Party of Action and Solidarity can very easily be called the ‘Party That Brings Poverty.’ It has exactly the same initials — PAS. We are going to be taxed on electricity consumption. If consumption exceeds 100 kilowatt-hours, the 20% VAT will apply. The same applies to natural gas: if consumption exceeds 150 cubic meters,” the MP said.

Berlinschii says the tax policy will also affect local budgets. According to estimates presented by the MP, the municipality of Bălți could lose approximately 20–22 million lei.

“The question is very simple: who is this tax policy for?” Alexandr Berlinschii said.
