President Maia Sandu met today with Christopher Smith, the new Head of the OSCE Mission to the Republic of Moldova. The discussion focused on the peaceful reintegration of the country and regional security, TRIBUNA reports.
Chisinau’s priorities remain maintaining stability and security amid Russia’s aggression against Ukraine and hybrid attacks, as well as pursuing gradual and sustainable reintegration by bringing citizens from the Transnistrian region closer to the Republic of Moldova and through sectoral reintegration.
The president highlighted the role of the OSCE Mission in facilitating dialogue between Chisinau and Tiraspol, improving the human rights situation, and ensuring the right to study in the Romanian language.
The head of state congratulated Christopher Smith on his appointment and wished him success in his new mandate.
