Electoral Code to Be Amended to Regulate Online Election Campaigns

The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) has initiated the drafting of a decision titled “On Submitting Proposals to Amend Electoral Code No. 325/2022 and Related Legislation (Addressing the Constitutional Court’s Address No. PCC-01/211e-451 of October 16, 2025),” TRIBUNA reports.

The purpose of the draft is to adapt the national regulatory framework to changes in the way election campaigns are conducted and to strengthen safeguards for the integrity of electoral processes in the digital environment, particularly by regulating online election campaigns and ensuring their transparency.

At the same time, the draft seeks to incorporate the conclusions set out in the Constitutional Court’s Address No. PCC-01/211e-451 of October 16, 2025, issued in the context of Decision No. 12 of October 16, 2025, concerning the confirmation of the results of the September 28, 2025 parliamentary elections and the validation of the mandates of the elected members of Parliament.

Proposals and recommendations may be submitted to the Central Electoral Commission by September 14, 2026.
