The Republic of Moldova is grateful to Ukraine for the courage with which it is defending its independence and, consequently, the security and freedom of our country. The message was conveyed by Prime Minister Vasile Tofan at the opening of the exhibition “Rebirth in Glory and Power,” held at the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of Ukraine’s proclamation of independence.

Prime Minister Vasile Tofan reiterated the Republic of Moldova’s solidarity with Ukraine and the Ukrainian people and expressed gratitude for their courage and resilience:

“By defending Ukraine’s independence, you are also defending our independence, and we are very grateful to you.”

“Every time a new warehouse, a new factory, or a new building is destroyed, the people of Ukraine say that they will rebuild and repair everything and will prevail in this unjust struggle. I admire the resilience and courage of the Ukrainian people. I am confident that they will overcome this difficult ordeal and succeed in rebuilding a more beautiful, dignified and prosperous Ukraine,” the Prime Minister added.

Prime Minister Vasile Tofan firmly condemned the Russian Federation’s war of aggression against Ukraine, urging people not to be influenced by Russian propaganda:

“Things are very clear; there is no room for grey areas. There is black and white: there is an aggressor and there is a victim. And I very much want us, in Moldova as well, to understand this, because unfortunately, there are people who remain influenced by Kremlin propaganda.”

The exhibition “Rebirth in Glory and Power” is dedicated to churches and other sites destroyed or damaged as a result of the Russian Federation’s war of aggression against Ukraine. It features photographs and documentary materials illustrating the scale of the destruction inflicted on Ukraine’s cultural and spiritual heritage.

The opening event was also attended by Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu, members of the Cabinet of Ministers, Ukraine’s Ambassador to Chisinau Paun Rohovei, as well as representatives of the National Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra Reserve and the Ukrainian community in the Republic of Moldova.

The exhibition is organized by the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Moldova in cooperation with the National Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra Reserve and the National Museum of the Revolution of Dignity. It can be visited at the Parliament until August 26 and, starting August 27, at the National Museum of History of Moldova.
