Parliament Received More Than 2,000 Petitions and Verbal Requests from Citizens in the First Half of 2026

Compliance with legislation, social protection, infrastructure issues, and proposals to amend laws were among the main topics raised by citizens in their submissions to Parliament. During the first six months of 2026, the Parliament’s Secretariat received 2,187 petitions and verbal requests from citizens and legal entities, TRIBUNA reports.

According to statistical data, 1,830 of the submissions were written petitions, while 357 were verbal requests. Of the total, 1,404 petitions were examined by Parliament, while 783 were forwarded to the competent authorities, depending on the issues concerned.

The largest number of petitions came from residents of Chișinău Municipality — 1,111. Another 299 petitions were submitted by residents of the Transnistrian region, 79 by residents of Orhei District, and 74 by people living abroad.

Some of the petitions received were referred to the relevant parliamentary committees for examination. The largest number were reviewed by the Committee on Economy, Budget and Finance — 87 petitions, followed by the Legal Committee on Appointments and Immunities — 62, the Committee on Public Administration and Regional Development — 43, the Committee on Culture, Education, Research, Youth, Sports and Mass Media — 41, the Committee on Social Protection, Health and Family — 39, and the Committee on National Security, Defense and Public Order — 34.

Citizens’ petitions and requests covered a wide range of issues, including the establishment and recalculation of pensions, social assistance, access to medical services, the operation of educational institutions, respect for procedural rights, and enforcement of court decisions.

Citizens also reported problems related to infrastructure and municipal services, transportation, commerce, civil-status documents, and other areas. At the same time, 222 submissions contained proposals for amending and improving legislation.

Petitions addressed to the legislative institution are handled by the Petitions and Public Hearings Directorate of the Parliament’s Secretariat. The e-Petitions information system is used to streamline the receipt, distribution, and monitoring of petitions. Citizens can submit petitions to Parliament online through the petitii.parlament.md platform.
