“Early parliamentary elections could take place if Tofan shows the same political responsibility as former Prime Minister Munteanu and understands that his principles do not allow him to remain part of the PAS government and tolerate the abuses committed by it,” Igor Dodon, leader of the Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova, said, reports TRIBUNA.

The politician added that Tofan will have to choose: either become part of the “yellow swamp” and go down in history forever alongside this failed government, or show character, “cut this Gordian knot,” establish a new right-wing party, and go to early elections.

“This could happen as early as in the coming months. In this case, the Government could resign in the autumn, paving the way for early parliamentary elections in 2027,” the MP said during the Rezoomat program on Realitatea Live.
