PAS Announcement

The mayor of Frumușica, Florești district, who was suspected of involvement in a murder committed seven years earlier, lost the political support of the Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS). PAS announced that the mayor had never been a party member, although he had run on its lists in the previous local elections.

Constitutional Court Judges’ Report

The judges of the Constitutional Court presented a review of the Court’s activity for the years 2019–2025. On this occasion, Constitutional Court President Domnica Manole also delivered a special message.

Igor Dodon’s Reaction

Igor Dodon, leader of the Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova and one of the leaders of the Patriotic Electoral Bloc, reacted to the convening of a Parliament session. He said that “the unconstitutional PAS grouping, under an emergency procedure, wants to definitively capture the Constitutional Court by turning it into a party branch.”

CEC Announcement

The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) announced that morning that it was the final day for registering to vote by mail.

U.S. State Department Report

Promo-LEX announced that the U.S. Department of State had published its annual report on the human rights situation in the Republic of Moldova for 2024. The document showed that, overall, there had been no major changes compared with the previous year.

Farewell Meeting

Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popșoi held a farewell meeting with the Head of the European Union Delegation to the Republic of Moldova, Ambassador Jānis Mažeiks, who was completing his four-year mandate in Moldova. The officials reviewed the main developments that had shaped relations between the Republic of Moldova and the European Union during 2021–2025.

Andrei Năstase’s Initiatives

Andrei Năstase, the first registered independent candidate in the parliamentary elections, listed as No. 4 on the ballot, presented “only four initiatives from the first pillar” of his program.

The politician said they included: 1. fewer MPs — 61, not 101; 2. fewer ministries — 9, not 14; 3. no outrageous salaries of hundreds of thousands of lei for state officials; 4. no parasitic district councils, with independence and greater power for mayors’ offices.

Program Launched in the Presence of the Prime Minister

The National Program for Providing an Allowance for First Employment was launched in the presence of Prime Minister Dorin Recean.

The Prime Minister noted that 380 companies from seven strategic sectors had hired more than 700 young people who, starting in September, would be eligible for the National Program — an additional 3,000 lei to their monthly salary for one year.

Meeting with Lawyers

The Ministry of Justice team and representatives of the Union of Lawyers of the Republic of Moldova held a discussion focused on solutions to improve the efficiency of lawyers’ work and the collegial bodies within the Union, particularly the admission process to the profession and lawyers’ disciplinary liability.

New Members Join PDMM

Fifteen mayors, eight district councilors and three municipal councilors from Cahul district, along with more than 500 other activists, joined the initiative launched by the leaders of the Modern Democratic Party of Moldova (PDMM) and called on all former Democrats to consolidate their forces ahead of the parliamentary elections.

Statement by Irina Vlah’s Party

The Republican Party “Heart of Moldova,” led by Irina Vlah, expressed its indignation in a statement over PAS actions, which it said had “triggered a new wave of terror against citizens.”

According to the party, citizens were being openly threatened that, regardless of how they voted in the autumn, if the results did not suit the governing authorities, the Constitutional Court would not validate them.

Two Requests Submitted to the CEC

During the day, the Central Electoral Commission received two applications to register lists of candidates for seats in the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova in the parliamentary elections.

The first application, containing a list of 53 candidates, was submitted by the League of Cities and Communes. The second request was submitted by the Alliance for the Union of Romanians for the registration of a list of 58 candidates.

Reports Approved by the CEC

The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) approved reports on the comprehensive audit of the financing of the “Renaștere” Party, the Force of Alternative and Salvation of Moldova Party, the “Chance” Party, the “Victory” Party, as well as the initiative group and electoral campaign of independent candidate for President of the Republic of Moldova Victoria Furtună.

These entities were subject to financial control concerning activities carried out between July 1, 2024 and October 31, 2024. The audit was conducted between November 6, 2024 and July 31, 2025.

In this context, the CEC was to notify the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office and the Ministry of Justice.

Departures from PDCM

The heads of the Rezina and Sîngerei territorial organizations of the Party of Development and Consolidation of Moldova (PDCM), Teodor Cuculescu and Alexandru Pleșca, together with their local teams, announced their departure from the party.

Vasile Tarlev’s Message

Vasile Tarlev, leader of the “Future of Moldova” Party, issued a message marking the beginning of the Dormition Fast, calling for prayers for peace and for the country’s future.

Ilan Șor’s Announcement

Ilan Șor, leader of the “Victory” Bloc, who was convicted in the “Bank Fraud” case, announced from Russia a new location for the “indefinite” protests against the government, promising participants monthly “salaries” of $3,000.

He said the protest would not take place in Great National Assembly Square, but at Chișinău Railway Station.

Former MP Found Guilty of Illicit Enrichment

The Chișinău Court, Buiucani District, handed down a conviction against former MP and former ambassador-at-large Sergiu Stati, finding him guilty of illicit enrichment.

The court imposed a fine of 450,000 lei and barred him from holding public or public office positions and from working in the public sector for a period of 12 years.

The court also ordered the confiscation, in favor of the state, of 1,976,392.16 lei as assets derived from criminal offenses.
