Restrictions on INIMA MOLDOVEI Party’s Activity to Expire on September 25, 2026 — Irina Vlah

The restrictions imposed on the activity of the Republican Party “Heart of Moldova” (INIMA MOLDOVEI) will expire on September 25, 2026, party leader Irina Vlah announced, referring to a decision of the Chișinău Court of Appeal, which examined the request submitted by the Ministry of Justice to restrict the party’s activity.

The party recalls that, two days before the parliamentary elections held on September 28, 2025, INIMA MOLDOVEI candidates were removed from the electoral race, while the party’s activity was temporarily restricted. The measure was based on suspicions of illegal financing, which, according to the party, were later not confirmed.

INIMA MOLDOVEI stated that the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) carried out a financial inspection of the party that lasted eight months and confirmed the legality of its funding.

“INIMA MOLDOVEI recalls that, as early as March, the Venice Commission stated that a party cannot be excluded from elections or have its activity restricted solely on the basis of suspicions, without concrete evidence,” the party said in a statement.

According to the party’s representatives, the conclusions of the Venice Commission were ignored by both Parliament and the Constitutional Court. As a result, INIMA MOLDOVEI claims that political parties in Moldova remain vulnerable to possible abuses, while court proceedings remain the main mechanism for defending their rights.

“INIMA MOLDOVEI will continue its fight for the Republic of Moldova, defending the principles of democracy, the rule of law, and citizens’ right to a dignified life,” Irina Vlah stated.
