Prime Minister Vasile Tofan Meets with Latvia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Baiba Braže

Prime Minister Vasile Tofan held a meeting with Latvia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Baiba Braže. The discussions focused on developments in the Republic of Moldova’s European integration path, Moldovan–Latvian cooperation, and the development of economic relations between the two countries, TRIBUNA reports.

The Head of Government appreciated Latvia’s constant support for the Republic of Moldova’s European path, noting that the country is prepared to advance in accession negotiations based on the progress achieved and the commitments fulfilled.

The meeting also addressed issues related to the implementation of the Growth Plan for the Republic of Moldova, cooperation in the field of digital transformation, strengthening cybersecurity, as well as support for Ukraine in the context of the Russian Federation’s war of aggression.

For her part, Latvia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed her country’s support for the Republic of Moldova’s European path and its readiness to continue cooperation in priority areas.

At the same time, the interlocutors reiterated their firm support for Ukraine and the need to continue joint efforts aimed at ensuring regional security and stability in the context of the Russian Federation’s war of aggression.
