The first ordinary session of the Parliament in 2026 has concluded. During yesterday’s plenary sitting, lawmakers adopted the draft resolution on the closure of the session, TRIBUNA reports.

At the close of the session, Speaker of Parliament Igor Grosu stated that the institution had made every effort to ensure the smooth functioning of the legislative process. He also highlighted the importance of effective cooperation with the Government, emphasizing that aligning the institutional agendas contributes to a more efficient legislative process and better overall results.

Igor Grosu thanked the members of Parliament for their work throughout the session and expressed his appreciation to the staff of the Parliament Secretariat for their professionalism and contribution to the effective organization and operation of the legislature.

Traditionally, the session concluded with a tribute to the State Symbols of the Republic of Moldova. The National Anthem of the Republic of Moldova and the Anthem of the European Union were performed by the Balada Choir from the village of Măgdăcești, Criuleni District, under the direction of Diana Maxim. Founded in 2010, the Balada Choir brings together 39 teenagers and young people passionate about vocal-symphonic and choral music. Throughout its activity, the ensemble has won numerous awards and distinctions at national and international festivals and competitions, contributing to the promotion of the country’s cultural values and musical heritage.

According to the Parliament’s Rules of Procedure, the legislature convenes in two ordinary sessions each year. The first session begins in February and may not extend beyond the end of July, while the second session begins in September and may not continue beyond the end of December. Outside the ordinary sessions, Parliament may convene in an extraordinary or special session at the request of the President of the Republic of Moldova, the Speaker of Parliament, or one-third of the members of Parliament.
