Prime Minister Vasile Tofan commented on today’s protest against the increase in the natural gas tariff. The head of government said he supports citizens’ right to protest and noted that the tariff situation could be improved, TRIBUNA reports.
“I support people’s right to protest. At the same time, I call on everyone to approach the search for solutions in the most constructive way possible.
The purchase price accounts for 60% of the gas tariff — this is something we cannot influence. However, there are 40% that we could affect. This concerns distribution and supply. I believe that greater transparency can be ensured in this area and that optimization is possible,” the prime minister said.
Vasile Tofan stressed that he is calling specifically for a review of this component of the tariff and urged the National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) to take this aspect into account.
