Government Discusses Ensuring Uninterrupted Fuel Supply to Moldova

Ensuring the uninterrupted supply of petroleum products to the Republic of Moldova and implementing newly approved government measures were the main topics of a meeting between Prime Minister Vasile Tofan and fuel importers, TRIBUNA reports.

The discussions took place in the context of a 30-day state of heightened preparedness in the energy sector. The measure was introduced in response to regional logistical disruptions, declining diesel fuel reserves, and rising international prices.

“Our priority is to maintain stable fuel supplies at filling stations at fair prices, especially during the peak agricultural season. We intend to coordinate efforts to unblock imports and protect the domestic market,” Prime Minister Vasile Tofan said.

During the meeting, the participants reviewed support measures aimed at streamlining logistics. The proposals include priority customs clearance, the creation of “green corridors” at border crossings, and allowing re-export operations through the Port of Giurgiulești only if minimum national fuel reserves are maintained.
