TRIBUNA continues its project highlighting the political events that took place exactly one year ago. This time, we look back at July 27, 2025.

Renato Usatîi in Drochia

The leader of the Our Party, Renato Usatîi, met with the party’s local organization in Drochia District. More than 220 people attended the gathering, which took place as part of preparations for the parliamentary elections scheduled for September 28, 2025.

AUR’s Decision

The National Political Council of the Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR) held a regular meeting in Chișinău and unanimously decided to participate in the parliamentary elections on September 28, 2025.

Visit of the Bulgarian Prime Minister

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova, Dorin Recean, and the Prime Minister of Bulgaria, Rossen Jeliazkov, discussed the partnership and friendship between the two countries, Bulgaria’s support for Moldova’s European integration, joint projects, and opportunities to expand bilateral cooperation during a meeting at the Government House. The two prime ministers later traveled to Taraclia, where they met with local authorities and residents to discuss opportunities for developing the Bulgarian community, the challenges facing the region, and the benefits of Moldova’s accession to the European Union. During the visit, the Ministers of Education—Dan Perciun of Moldova and Krasimir Valchev of Bulgaria—signed an agreement under which the Taraclia State University became a branch of Angel Kanchev University of Ruse, marking the first Bulgarian higher education institution established outside Bulgaria.

Igor Grosu at the “Harvest” Festival

The third edition of the “La Seceriș” (At Harvest) Folklore Festival took place in Cârnățeni, Căușeni District, bringing together farmers from across the country to celebrate the completion of the grain harvest. Speaker of Parliament Igor Grosu attended the event.

PAS Registered for the Parliamentary Elections

The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) registered 101 candidates from the Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) for the parliamentary elections on September 28, 2025. The CEC also registered the party’s electoral symbol, confirmed its representative to the Commission for the electoral period, and approved the party’s financial officer (treasurer) for the election campaign.

Ion Chicu in Belgium

Ion Chicu, leader of the Party of Development and Consolidation of Moldova (PDCM) and one of the leaders of the Alternative Bloc, met with Moldovan citizens living, working, or studying in Brussels, Belgium. The meeting was also attended by diaspora coordinators from the bloc’s member parties: Lucia Guțan (PDCM) and Igor Cereteu (MAN).

Liberal Party Congress

The 6th Congress of the Liberal Party was held, focusing on Moldova’s current socio-political situation ahead of the parliamentary elections. Delegates elected a new composition of the party’s Republican Council, while Mihai Ghimpu was reconfirmed as President of the Liberal Party. The Congress also adopted an appeal calling on all pro-European and unionist parties to form a joint electoral bloc.

“Together” Electoral Bloc Formed

During meetings of the National Political Councils of the Party of Change and the Green Ecologist Party of Moldova, the formation of the “Together” Electoral Bloc was approved. The two parties announced that they would submit the necessary documents to register the bloc for the parliamentary elections.

Irina Vlah’s Statements

The Heart of Moldova Republican Party condemned what it described as “false statements spread publicly by Igor Grosu, leader of the Party of Action and Solidarity, in response to the opposition rally held on July 26, which gathered thousands of participants.” Party leader Irina Vlah stated that “throughout the entire history of the Republic of Moldova, no leader of a governing party has resorted to such cheap manipulation as Igor Grosu.”
