A delegation from the Parliamentary Friendship Group with the Republic of Moldova, Romania, and Bulgaria in the Bundestag of the Federal Republic of Germany is paying a visit to Moldova on July 16–17, TRIBUNA reports.

The German delegation is headed by Raimond Scheirich and includes Members of the Bundestag Bettina Hagedorn and Julian Joswig.

During the visit, the German lawmakers will meet with the Speaker of Parliament, Igor Grosu. Meetings are also scheduled at Parliament with members of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with the Federal Republic of Germany, chaired by MP Alic Baraboi, as well as with members of the Committee on European Integration, chaired by MP Marcel Spatari. The agenda also includes a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Valeriu Chiveri.

The discussions will focus on Germany’s strong support for Moldova’s European integration path, as well as opportunities to expand economic cooperation, including in the areas of trade, investment, information and communications technologies, innovation, manufacturing, logistics, and tourism.

Germany remains one of Moldova’s most important development partners. The support provided in recent years has become a key pillar in strengthening the country’s security, defense, and institutional resilience. This assistance includes support for developing defense capabilities, modernizing the National Army, cooperation in internal affairs, support for secure communications, and strategic expertise to implement the reform agenda and advance Moldova’s accession process to the European Union.
