Igor Dodon, leader of the Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova (PSRM), stated that “Maia Sandu’s participation in the meeting of the so-called ‘Coalition of the Willing’ is a gross violation of the Republic of Moldova’s neutrality,” TRIBUNA reports.
The politician noted that the leaders of the coalition have openly declared their objectives: to continue military support for Ukraine and to demonstrate to Moscow that they are “not tired of the war.”
“Moreover, French President Emmanuel Macron yesterday announced plans to hold military exercises involving the coalition in countries neighboring Ukraine. Do they also intend to include the neutral Republic of Moldova in this list?
Instead of keeping our country out of someone else’s confrontation, Maia Sandu is gradually drawing it into dangerous geopolitical games. Our citizens want peace, security, and stability—not for Moldova to become an instrument of other people’s interests. Our place is among the states that do everything possible to preserve peace, not to fuel further confrontation,” the PSRM leader emphasized.
