Vasile Tofan said he accepted the nomination of the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) for the position of prime minister because “the Republic of Moldova has achieved many remarkable victories in recent years, and now we have a historic chance to become an EU member state and build a European and free future for our country and for all our children. This success depends on all of us — and from this perspective I accepted, with great responsibility, the candidacy for prime minister proposed by PAS.”
The potential prime minister added that his objectives are aligned with those of President Maia Sandu and PAS.
“I understand both the gravity of the moment and the real prospect of bringing Moldova to where it should have been 20 years ago. We do not have the right to miss this historic opportunity. I will dedicate all my energy, everything I have learned and know, so that the country succeeds and meets the expectations of its citizens.
I am honored to join the team that has firmly committed to European integration. My objectives are aligned with the priorities set by President Maia Sandu and with the discussions held within the parliamentary faction — signing the Accession Treaty in 2028, cleaning up, improving and strengthening institutions, and economic development to increase people’s well‑being.
