Vasile Tofan, the designated candidate for the position of Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova, stated that it is “a great, great honor” to be nominated to lead the Government.
He emphasized that he does not see this as a personal achievement or a line in his CV, but as a major responsibility. “And I must admit that I am, in fact, overwhelmed by this responsibility. I will do everything in my power to live up to the expectations of Moldovan citizens. I intend to get to work as quickly as possible. I am a hardworking person, and I want to dedicate all my energy and everything I know to making Moldovans’ lives better,” he said.
The designated Prime Minister noted that his first priority is restoring trust in state institutions, given the recent public scandals.
**“1. Restoring and strengthening trust. Many people are disappointed, and trust can be rebuilt through courageous changes.
- We cannot achieve major results if we do not restart the economy. We must bring back optimism among local entrepreneurs.
- Politics and business are a team sport; we must work together. I also have a message for public servants: I am here to build strong teams, and all those who are honest and courageous will have an ally in me. We have a lot of work ahead — this is our generation’s chance for EU integration,” he underlined.
