The President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, officially designated businessman Vasile Tofan today as the country’s Prime Minister, the candidate of the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS), TRIBUNA reports.
“I wish Mr. Vasile Tofan success! And I want to reiterate the tasks of this government: – ensuring the completion of all processes required for European integration in the coming years; – strengthening the resilience of state institutions and society; – restarting the economy so that we can raise living standards,” the head of state said.
Igor Grosu, president of PAS, stated that Vasile Tofan aligns perfectly with the party’s objectives. “PAS will offer him full support and stand by him. Mr. Tofan, good luck — we are a team, and we look forward to seeing you in Parliament as soon as possible!” he said.
According to the Constitution, the designated candidate has 15 days to request Parliament’s vote for the composition of the Cabinet of Ministers and the government program.
