Speaker of Parliament Igor Grosu is participating in the inaugural Conference of Speakers of the Parliaments of countries aspiring to join the European Union, taking place in Belgrade, TRIBUNA reports.
The event brings together parliamentary speakers from EU candidate countries to discuss the common challenges and opportunities of the EU accession process, exchange experience and best practices, promote joint initiatives, and lay the foundations for a permanent platform of parliamentary dialogue, coordination, and mutual support.
The main theme of the conference is “European Integration in a Changing Geopolitical Context,” with a focus on the role of candidate countries’ parliaments in advancing the European integration process.
On the sidelines of the event, Speaker Igor Grosu is scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts from Ukraine and Serbia.
The conference is organized at the initiative of the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Ana Brnabić, and the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Ruslan Stefanchuk.
