Joint Declaration signed at the EU–Moldova Summit: “The future of the Republic of Moldova and its citizens is in the European Union”

During the second European Union – Republic of Moldova Summit, the leaders signed a joint declaration reflecting the depth of the partnership between the European Union and the Republic of Moldova, as well as the concrete benefits it brings to citizens, TRIBUNA reports.

The declaration emphasizes that “the future of the Republic of Moldova and its citizens is in the European Union.”

The document also notes, among other points, that the European Union will continue the gradual integration of the Republic of Moldova into the EU internal market in key sectors, as well as the progressive involvement of Moldova in EU policies and programmes already during the accession negotiation process. This will stimulate economic growth, benefit citizens and businesses, strengthen resilience and convergence, and increase Moldova’s preparedness for EU membership.

“The European Union will continue to accelerate and deepen its engagement with the Republic of Moldova, in particular through the regular holding of high‑level EU–Moldova meetings,” the declaration states.
