Chișinău Mayor Ion Ceban is on a working visit to London, where he is holding several meetings and discussions with high‑level officials and with the leadership of the EBRD regarding the major projects being jointly implemented in Chișinău, TRIBUNA reports.
He noted that these projects were drafted, negotiated, and brought to Chișinău exclusively by the Chișinău City Hall in recent years — a fact the municipality is proud of. According to him, these are large‑scale development projects, unprecedented since independence, including the construction of three major arteries: Mircea cel Bătrân Boulevard, Industrială Street, and Mesager Street. “It is not only about building roads, but about expanding the city together with all the necessary infrastructure,” he stated.
The mayor added that other flagship projects are also being discussed during the meetings — initiatives implemented by Chișinău City Hall with the support of the EBRD/EIB and EU development funds. “These include energy modernization and efficiency, waste management, road construction, water and sewage systems, rehabilitation of the Bîc Riverbed, and more. Chișinău has over 30 projects financed through European support instruments, with a portfolio exceeding 4.5 billion lei,” Ion Ceban underlined.
