The second Republic of Moldova – European Union Summit is being held today in Brussels, TRIBUNA reports.
The meeting, attended by President Maia Sandu, is hosted by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and President of the European Council António Costa. The three leaders will discuss Moldova’s future in the European Union: progress on the European integration path, gradual integration into the EU Single Market, investment, security, and new opportunities for Moldovan citizens and businesses.
“Moldova comes to this summit with results: we have completed the screening process, opened negotiations for the first cluster of chapters, and continue the reforms that bring our country closer to European standards. Today we are discussing the next steps and how we can advance more rapidly based on our own merits,” said Cristina Gherasimov, Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration.
At the end of the Summit, the press statements of the three leaders will be broadcast.
