President Maia Sandu stated that the Republic of Moldova has taken another step on its European path by opening negotiations on the first cluster of chapters, “Fundamental Values,” TRIBUNA reports.
According to her, these chapters of European legislation concern the issues that matter most to people: a fair justice system, institutions that work in the interests of citizens, the fight against corruption, respect for fundamental rights, and a state that provides equal opportunities for everyone.
“We have reached this point thanks to the work we have done together and the efforts of the people who believe in the European future of the Republic of Moldova. Our country is moving forward, and the road ahead still requires perseverance. But today we have one more reason to be confident: Moldova’s accession to the European Union is no longer a distant goal, but a reality that we are already building,” the Head of State emphasized.
