European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos stated that today is an extremely important day for the enlargement of the European Union, TRIBUNA reports.

“First of all, Ukraine and Moldova will take the most important step since the decision to begin EU accession negotiations in 2023.

We will also close two more chapters with Montenegro, which means that nearly half of all negotiation chapters will be closed,” she said.

Marta Kos noted that this is a day to celebrate.

“I will also take this opportunity to encourage the candidate countries to maintain the pace of reforms,” the Commissioner added.
