EU Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos took part in the opening of the first European Union–Republic of Moldova Investment Conference, TRIBUNA reports.
During the event, the first investment intentions were presented, which could reach up to €640 million. These are complemented by private‑sector investment projects announced by the Government of the Republic of Moldova, amounting to €364 million. In total, the volume of announced investments exceeds €1 billion.
At the ceremony, letters of intent and memoranda of understanding were signed for new investments in key sectors for the country’s development: drinking water, pharmaceuticals, energy, digitalization, agriculture, connectivity, and industry.
These initiatives follow a call launched by the European Commission, which received more than 75 project proposals from companies interested in investing in Moldova.
