Irina Vlah, the leader of the Republican Party “Inima Moldovei”, states that the Ministry of Justice must withdraw its application from the Chișinău Court of Appeal and announced that today the party’s lawyers submitted an official address to the Ministry of Justice requesting the withdrawal of the application filed with the Chișinău Court of Appeal concerning the restriction of the activity of the Republican Party “Inima Moldovei”.
Irina Vlah recalled that the Ministry of Justice submitted this application last autumn following a notification from the Central Electoral Commission regarding certain suspicions of illegal financing of the Republican Party “Inima Moldovei”.
“For eight months, the CEC examined the alleged illegal financing of our party and, in the end, found that the suspicions were not confirmed. Now, after the CEC has officially approved the report on the comprehensive control of the financing of the Republican Party ‘Inima Moldovei’, the Ministry of Justice must withdraw its application from the Chișinău Court of Appeal. The suspicions were not confirmed, therefore there is no reason to continue the proceedings at the Chișinău Court of Appeal.
The Republican Party ‘Inima Moldovei’ has consistently stated in recent months that the party’s activity is legal and transparent. Now, this has been officially proven by the Central Electoral Commission. Therefore, the logical step that must follow is the annulment of the restriction on our party’s activity. It is time for justice to be done! It is time for the Republican Party ‘Inima Moldovei’ to be reinstated in its rights and to return to full activity, as is only natural!”, the politician underlined.
