The Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned today the chargé d’affaires of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Moldova and handed over a protest note regarding the serious violation of regional security caused by the crash, on 29 May 2026, of a Russian‑origin drone loaded with explosives into a residential building in Galați, Romania.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs firmly condemns this act, stressing that such actions are a direct consequence of the Russian Federation’s war of aggression against Ukraine and generate serious risks for regional security and the safety of citizens. The Republic of Moldova expresses its full solidarity with Romania and with the individuals affected.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterates its call on the Russian Federation to end its war of aggression against Ukraine, withdraw its military forces from Ukrainian territory, and fully respect Ukraine’s sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity in accordance with international law.
