Igor Dodon, leader of the Socialists, stated that the recently introduced “state of emergency” has proven to be nothing more than a show, as he initially anticipated, TRIBUNA reports.
“And I was right not to support it.
We demand the immediate cancellation of the state of emergency. At the next Parliament session, our faction will submit a draft decision to this effect.
The grounds are obvious:
— excessive powers granted to the Commission for Exceptional Situations;
— non‑transparent public procurement;
— misleading the public;
— previous cases of mismanagement of public funds (purchasing energy resources at inflated prices, non‑transparent management of road repair funds, including the Leova–Bumbăta case, among others),” Dodon declared.
He added that the Socialists insist the Government must present a report on its activity in Parliament: “either the Prime Minister will come personally with a report, or we will obtain this through a motion of no confidence.”
