The Speaker of Parliament, Igor Grosu, has ordered the convening of an extraordinary parliamentary session today at 17:00, TRIBUNA reports.
During the session, Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu, together with the ministers directly involved in managing the situation, will present the necessary measures for declaring a state of emergency in the energy sector for 60 days.
“Russia’s attacks on Ukraine’s civilian energy infrastructure are war crimes, and their purpose is to leave thousands of people in darkness. It is also a direct attack on us, on the Republic of Moldova. Last night’s strikes led to the disconnection of the main power line supplying the Republic of Moldova — the Vulcănești–Isaccea line. The four interconnection lines with Romania have been activated, but the situation remains complicated. This is a necessary measure to act quickly, in a coordinated manner, and in the interest of the people,” Igor Grosu stated.
