Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popșoi held a phone conversation today with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Tom Berendsen, TRIBUNA reports.
The discussion focused on strengthening Moldova–Netherlands relations and expanding sectoral cooperation, with particular emphasis on institutional resilience and cybersecurity — areas essential for enhancing the state’s capacity to address current challenges and improve citizens’ security.
During the call, Minister Popșoi congratulated his Dutch counterpart on his recent appointment and wished him success in carrying out his mandate.
Mihai Popșoi also reviewed recent developments in Moldova’s European integration process, outlining the country’s priorities on its path toward the EU. In this context, he expressed gratitude for the support provided, including the Netherlands’ backing for the opening of technical negotiations across all chapter clusters.
For his part, Tom Berendsen reaffirmed the Netherlands’ support for Moldova’s EU accession and expressed openness to deepening cooperation in areas of shared interest.
The two ministers agreed to maintain an active dialogue and to make full use of existing opportunities to strengthen the Moldova–Netherlands partnership for the benefit of citizens in both countries.
